Phil became interested in photography in his early 30's, back in the days of film. When his two children had grown up, the additional free time (and money!) re-ignited his passion for photography.
He is now the proud owner of multiple awards, and keen to win more.
He is an active member of the club volunteering for various activities, he enters most competitions the club runs, and his images are often used for inter-club competitions,
He supports other members through open night presentations, and sharing his insights directly with other members.
Phil has his own website https://phildurkin.co.uk where you can browse at your lesure.
His fantastic work can also be bought on Photo4Me, below is a link to his profile with all his available images.
Mike enjoys all kind of photography but specialises in Landscape and Wildlife,
He has been an active member of the club for over 25 years, and served as competition secretary enabling the club to run the many competitions we have for members to participate in.
He has achieved a CPAGB in 2014, and won an L&CPU Gold Medal in 2004.
Mike is currenly working on his own website and will be online soon.
Alan joined at Bolton Camera Club in 2013, having bought his DSLR camera after his retirement from work as a Transport Manager in the Tour Industry.
As a new member he was in awe of the images in the monthly competitions. It wasn't long before he decided to try his luck in a competition himself. Whilst the judge was complimentary about the composition and the subject, the photograph lacked the quality in colour reproduction and sharpness. He scored a disappointing 13 points. This initial feedback and his natural competitive nature spurred him on to improve. Alan began to engage with other photographers at the club, and absorb as much information as he could from magazines, books and DVDs. Gradually he developed his skills to a point where other photographers now ask him for advice, and Alan is always happy to help.
He has enjoyed success in club competitions, being named the clubs Photographer of the Year in 2018.
In recent years he has concentrated on Portraiture, gaining a few awards on the way.
This year he is intending to improve his Landscape and Cityscape portfolio.
