The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.
We enjoyed eleven days out during 2017, and images taken during any of these are eligible to be entered in our Day Out Competition, which took place on 4 January 2018. We were delighted to welcome back Dave Bibby from North Fylde Camera Club to be our judge for the 12 prints and 23 PDIs.
For this competition we require one print and one PDI to be the top scorer, as the winning authors will be presented with a trophy at our presentation evening. The prints were shown first, and after a run through Dave awarded 18 points and third place to “Ironbridge” by Ken Tebay, and “”Tea for Two” by Dave Liggett came second with 19 points. The eventual winner in the print section was “Inside Victoria Halls” by Gordon Hartley.

There was much excitement in the audience as the scores were awarded as this competition is the final round of the year, so final overall positions were hastily calculated to see who had won overall and who would be presented with the Trophy at our presentation night in January.
Our thanks to Terry Hewitt for his insightful and helpful comments and scores.
