On Thursday 21 April we held the second round of our print competition, and invited John Howard to be the judge.
John has been a judge for many years in the Southern Counties area as he formally lived in Devon, but he currently lives in Oldham. After a run through, he gave each print the score he felt it deserved.
Our Club Level section was first to be presented, and John awarded two prints 19 points. They were “The Singer” and “Bee Eater” both by Yvonne Casselli.
Out Intermediate group were next, and John awarded 17 points to “Receding Glacier” by Sheila Wicks and to “Pylons - Iceland” by David Barker.
To the final section by our Advanced Group John awarded 6 prints the full 20 points. These were “Morning Mist, Badachro Bay” by Mike Williamson, “Tawny Owl in Flight” by Richard Towell, “Kingfisher Rising” by Richard Towell, “Seed of Hope” by Pete Corser, “Bellowing Red Deer Stag” by Brian White, and “Red Fox” by Mick Stone.
Here are the digital versions of the prints that scored 20 points:
