Monthly Competition Results

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

We were delighted to welcome back Adrian Lines MPAGB FBPE EFIAP ARPS to judge our Open PDI Competition on Thursday 20 July 2017. Adrian said it made a refreshing change for him to judge images from “grass roots photographic enthusiasts” as he currently spends his time judging international competitions.

The 31 images from the Club Level were screened first and after a run through Adrian said this group had produced a good selection and variety of subjects. He gave his comments and scores, holding four back, “Golgotha” by Dave Liggett, “Culzean Castle” by Ian McNab, “Sheltered Mooring” by Derek Ainsworth, and “The Passage of Time” also by Dave Liggett.

Adrian’s comments were both constructive and helpful, containing encouragement and advice, and he awarded the full 20 points to “Golgotha” by Dave Liggett.

The top score went to two images, John Durkin’s “Pair of Great Tits” and Keith Atkinson’s “Auditorium, Victoria Halls”
