Monthly Competition Results

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

A long standing friend of the Bolton Camera Club, Harry Emmett, came to judge our third theme based competition of the year on 30th July 2015. The theme this time was 'Land and Water (Both lements)'. Harry judged a very large entry with his usual good humour and skill. Helpful comments ranged over cropping options to concentrate on what matters and to improve composition generally, as well as suggestions about point of view, creativity and exposure. Nearly 70 images were viewed and judged - a marathon task. Below is a selection of the high scoring images, together with the usual attachments giving the scores awarded on the night.
