It was our turn to host the inter club competition with Bury on Thursday 26 October 2017, and this is always a challenging competition as it involves each club entering one image from 20 members.
The prints were shown first to Judge John Dougherty, and he held back five for further consideration. He awarded 18 points to “Green Woodpecker” by Richard Towell (Bolton CC) and 19 points to “St Peters Church, Heysham” by Ken Tebay(Bolton CC) and “The Black Cuillins from Elgol, Skye” by Mike Williamson (Bolton CC). The top score of 20 points went to both “Lancaster Canal” by Eb Swarbrick (Bury PS) and “Fieldfare” by Blake Wardle (Bolton CC).
At the end of the print section the scores were 169 points for Bury PS and 176 points to Bolton CC.
The PDI were shown after the break, and again Judge John gave us the benefit of his comments and opinions for each one. He held five back and awarded 18 points to “Scarlet Ribbon” by Martin Henfield (Bury PS) and 19 points to “A Great Pair of Tits” by John Durkin (Bolton CC)
The top score of 20 points went to three images, “White Tailed Sea Eagle” by Lesley Robb (Bury PS), “Awestruck” by Alan Bromiley (Bolton CC) and “Spill Way” by Nina Thomasson (Bolton CC).
