External Competition Results

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

We have enjoyed another successful competition organised by the L&CPU, with many members entering Prints and PDI this year.

Richard Towell CPAGB entered every section and achieved a personal score of 257 points, placing him in 23rd place overall in the Photographer of the Year listing. Richard scored 130 points for his prints, placing him in 21st place in the Print Worker of the Year category. He was a very credible 59th with 127 points in the Digital Worker of the Year section.

Our highest scoring single images were “Mary’s Shell” by Phil Durkin CPAGB and “Approaching Storm” by David Hawkins, both being awarded 13 points in the Colour Print category.

Our youngest member Blake Wardle CPAGB entered in the Young Photographer competition, entering three PDIs. We are delighted to confirm that  two of Blake’s images scored a superb 14 points each. Blake came second last year, but with a total of 28 points, he won the 2016 Young Photographer competition.

Our congratulations go to Richard and Blake, and to all our members who entered this competition.
