The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

We are delighted to announce that Blake Wardle has successfully achieved a DPAGB, a Distinction award for photographic merit, from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain.

He needed a total score from his 15 prints to be at least 300 points, and he actually achieved a score of 332 points

Blake is the youngest member of this camera club, having only turned 18 towards the end of last year. He started taking when he was 14 years old, and knew from the start that he wanted to specialise on wildlife photography, especially birds.

He has taken the photography scene by storm, having already achieved a Credit with the PAGB (the CPAGB award), and won the L&CPU Young Photographer of the Year award in 2016.

His love of the wild helps him become part of the environment when shooting and his patience to wait for the perfect capture has led him to win these awards in the early stage of his career.

Two of Blake's top scoring images can be seen here:

Jumping Red Squirrel

"Jumping Red Squirrel" (25 points)

Little Owl

Little Owl on Post (24 points)

We congratulate Blake on this wonderful achievement.
