Club Trophies

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

Richard Rollon, Picture Editor of the Bolton News, presented the trophies to the winning members on Thursday 10 February 2011.

The David Farrell Trophy for the best image taken on a club Day Out was awarded to John Bradshaw for his projected image “Rydal Cave.” Richard said he “liked it the first time he saw it tonight” and “it has a fantastic feel to it”. He felt “it benefits from being in black and white”, and is “very dramatic.”

In second place was the print “Low Afternoon Tide” by Ray Jefferson, which Richard said “was a wonderful image”, and “the reflection adds interest”. The print also had “good detail throughout.”
