Club Trophies

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

At a presentation held after our thoroughly enjoyable quiz night, Mike Williamson presented Gordon Hartley with the Roy Williamson Trophy on Thursday 16th December 2010.

This new trophy is awarded to the member achieving the highest score in the monthly 'theme' competition each year. Mike and Sarah Williamson and his sister Stephanie and family have donated the trophy in memory of their father, Roy.

Roy was a member of the Club for twelve years and was a sturdy friend of the Club and its members. He was always willing to help out, had been the organiser behind most of the Club's 'days out', and until he passed away early in 2010, had served as an effective Club Treasurer. He is sorely missed, but will always be remembered thanks to the new trophy.

Gordon’s images were of a very high standard, and he is a worthy first winner of this new trophy. Gordon proudly received the trophy form Mike, and said he has many fond memories of Roy.
