Days Out

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

A few members of the camera club went to ‘Martin Mere Wetland Centre’ on Wednesday the 19th May 2010, the weather was warm but a little cloudy, and it was pleasant enough to walk round without jackets.  We all met in the café for a refreshing ‘cuppa’ before we went out to photograph the various species of birds, it was noticeable that the water levels were well down on previous visits; but this did not detract from the wonderful plumage of the birds that we saw.  There is a new Beaver section which has recently been built; the Beavers were as elusive as ever, we didn’t see any.  The Otters looked as if they were going to be as elusive as the Beavers, but feeding time arrived early and they all came out from their pens and entertained us with their energetic antics.  This day was yet again another good 'day out' for the camera club.
