Days Out

The Bolton Camera Club meets weekly throughout most of the year and gives a very warm welcome to visitors and new members. We have been sharing a passion for photography since 1884 and are more than happy to share with you, whether your interest is in film or digital, audio visual or more technical aspects of photography.

On Tuesday 18th November 2014 several members from this club enjoyed an afternoon in Manchester City Centre, lead by “tour guide” Alan Bromiley.

Starting off at the rear of the Town Hall we walked in bright sunshine to the Central Library where Alan had gained prior permission for us to take photographs inside. We then walked to the G-Mex and Bridgewater Hall for more photos before walking to the “Hidden Gem,” a small church in the back streets. It was here that the memorial service for  "Mr Manchester" Anthony Wilson was held following his death in 2007.

We then walked along several interesting passageways back to St Ann’s Square.

A few members returned to the Bridgewater Hall and the Central Library areas to take night-time photos with trams giving light trails.

A superb day was enjoyed by all present and thanks to Alan for organising the route and giving us many interesting facts along the way.
